Diggin Cafe Delhi: An Independent Visitor Guide

An independent guide to Diggin's garden cafes in Delhi: menu, outlets, seating and the best time to go.

Diggin Cafe (listed simply as Diggin on most apps) is a Delhi café known for Italian and Continental food and for garden seating wrapped in fairy lights, potted plants, brick walls and swings. Press and listings document four Diggin outlets, all in Delhi: Anand Lok (the original, opposite Gargi College), Santushti Shopping Complex in Chanakyapuri (the best known), Connaught Place, and Bikaner House near India Gate.

This is an independent guide, not the brand's website. Everything below comes from public listings and press coverage, with the source named. Where sources disagree, for example on timings, shop numbers or alcohol, the conflict is shown instead of guessed.

If you only need the basics: plan on a reported Rs 1,400 to Rs 2,000 for two depending on outlet and source, expect queues at peak hours and on weekends, and go in the evening if you want the lights at their best.

What Diggin Cafe is known for

Diggin is a sit-down café serving pizza, pasta, risotto, salads, sandwiches, burgers, desserts and shakes. Listings and press also call it Diggin Cafe or Diggin Café. The food is the reason people return, but the setting is the reason most people first come: outdoor courtyards strung with fairy lights and string lights, potted plants and flowers, brick walls and swings.

The fairy-light look started at the Anand Lok outlet and was carried over to Chanakyapuri, according to a 2019 Curly Tales piece that also described the café as having a Christmas mood all year. In December the decorations go up a level, with wreaths, red ribbons, lit arches and a Christmas tree reported at Bikaner House in 2025.

The founders, founding year and parent company are not stated in any source checked for this guide. An IndiaMART business listing names an owner, but no news source confirms it, so this guide leaves it out.

Diggin Cafe outlets in Delhi

Four outlets are documented, all in Delhi. No Gurgaon, Noida or Hauz Khas outlet appears in any source found.

OutletAreaStatus in sources
Anand LokAnand Lok Shopping Centre, Siri Fort Road, opposite Gargi CollegeThe original outlet, reviewed in 2014
ChanakyapuriSantushti Shopping Complex, opposite Samrat HotelOpen by January 2018; the best-known outlet
Connaught PlaceBlock A, Inner Circle (aggregator listing)Called the newest branch in August 2021; current status unconfirmed
Bikaner HousePandara Road, near India GateAnnounced as the 4th outlet in July 2022

A June 2025 OT Eats article mentions three outposts, and 2025 press names only Chanakyapuri, Anand Lok and Bikaner House, so the Connaught Place branch may have closed even though one aggregator still lists it. Full details for each are on the all outlets page.

Timings by outlet

Listed hours vary by outlet and by source. Treat these as a guide only.

  • Chanakyapuri: 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM (District, magicpin) or 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM (EazyDiner, Outlook Traveller 2024). Open all week per listings.
  • Anand Lok: 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM (magicpin).
  • Bikaner House: 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM (So City 2022) or 12 noon to 11 PM, Monday to Sunday (OT Eats, December 2025).
  • Connaught Place: 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM on one aggregator, unconfirmed.
Call or check a live listing on the day, especially on public holidays and in December, when cafés often change hours.

Cost for two, booking and payment

Reported cost for two ranges from Rs 1,400 (EazyDiner, Chanakyapuri) to Rs 1,900 (District and magicpin) and Rs 2,000 at Bikaner House (OT Eats, December 2025). For comparison, a 2014 review put a meal for two at Anand Lok at about Rs 1,200.

District lists table booking for Chanakyapuri, and magicpin recommends booking. At Anand Lok, magicpin lists both cards and cash. Delivery and takeaway are reported, and the brand is listed on magicpin; Swiggy and Zomato listings were not confirmed during research for this guide.

Does Diggin serve alcohol?

Sources conflict. For Chanakyapuri, EazyDiner and VenueLook say alcohol is not served and there is no bar, while magicpin's attribute list says alcohol and beer are available. magicpin also lists beer at Anand Lok. Serving alcohol in Delhi needs an excise licence and outlets can differ, so the safest assumption is a mainly non-bar café. Confirm with the outlet before you go. No source mentions hookah at any Diggin outlet.

Who will enjoy it

  • Families with children: magicpin describes it as good for kids and families.
  • Pet owners: OT Eats (June 2025) lists Anand Lok as pet-friendly, and magicpin says pets are allowed at Chanakyapuri.
  • Wheelchair users: magicpin lists wheelchair seating and an accessible entrance at Chanakyapuri. Call ahead to confirm the area you want to sit in.
  • People who love a photo: see the Diggin Cafe photos and decor guide.

Best time to go

LBB recommends evenings for the fairy lights. Weekday daytime is the usual advice for avoiding queues, since peak hours and weekends bring long waits and outdoor tables go first. Winter suits the open-air seating, and December is when the Christmas decor is at its fullest. If garden seating is the whole point for you, also read the guide on picking a garden or rooftop cafe in Delhi.

A short history

The Anand Lok outlet was already running and being reviewed in August 2014, when its decor was compared to London's Covent Garden. A 2022 review noted that the owner's mother decorated the Anand Lok interiors. The Santushti outlet in Chanakyapuri was open by January 2018, the Connaught Place branch was called the newest in August 2021, and Bikaner House opened as the fourth outlet in July 2022. Since then Diggin has appeared regularly in Outlook Traveller and OT Eats lists of open-air, pet-friendly and Christmas cafés in Delhi. No awards were found.
