Most Diggin cafe photos online show the same things: outdoor tables under fairy lights and string lights, potted plants and flowers, brick walls and swings. This page describes those spots in words, outlet by outlet, so you know what to expect, when the light is best, and how to take pictures without disturbing other diners or staff.
There are no images here. For real pictures, the brand's Instagram (@diggincafe, as cited in press) and listing-site galleries are the places to look.

The Diggin look in words
The brand's style is a garden or courtyard covered in fairy lights and string lights, with potted plants and flowers, exposed brick and swings. Curly Tales wrote in 2019 that the fairy-light look started at Anand Lok and was carried to Chanakyapuri, and that the cafés feel like Christmas all year. A 2014 review compared the Anand Lok decor to London's Covent Garden.
Chanakyapuri: garden, glasshouse and first floor
The outdoor garden at Santushti is the most photographed Diggin space. VenueLook describes benches surrounded by plants and flowers, and LBB mentions a faux glasshouse setup outdoors. Inside, the room is warm and woody, and there is a cosier first-floor area. For a wide shot of the lights, the garden after dark is the obvious choice. More details on the Chanakyapuri page.
Anand Lok: the swing and climbing plants
LBB describes the outdoor area here with fairy lights, flowers, a swing and climbing plants. The indoor room is plainer, with tree wall art on the wall, which can make a simpler, less busy background. The outlet is spread over two floors. See the Anand Lok page for timings.
Bikaner House and the Christmas look
Bikaner House has indoor and outdoor seating. In December 2025, OT Eats described wreaths, red ribbons, lit arches and a Christmas tree here. If you want Christmas photos, early to mid December evenings are when the decor is up and the weather suits sitting outside.
When to go for the best photos
- Evening: LBB recommends evenings, when the fairy lights stand out.
- Weekday daytime: quieter, with fewer people in your frame (reported advice).
- Winter: Outlook Traveller featured Diggin among cosy open-air cafés in January 2024.
- December: Christmas decorations are at their fullest.
How to photograph respectfully
- Order and settle in first. Tables are in demand, so avoid wandering through the garden for photos before you have been seated.
- Keep other diners out of your shots, or ask them first. Many people are on dates or family outings and may not want to appear online.
- Do not block walkways, staircases or the path staff use to carry food. Step back if a server needs to pass.
- Ask before photographing staff, and do not move furniture, plants or decorations to set up a shot.
- Skip flash and tripods unless the staff say they are fine. Flash also washes out the fairy lights.
- Keep the swing for a quick turn if others are waiting, and do not climb on decor.
- At Chanakyapuri, remember the complex is in an Air Force station area. Keep your camera on the café and avoid photographing the surroundings or any signage you are unsure about.
- For professional shoots or content creation, ask the outlet for permission in advance.
What the photos usually do not show
Online pictures tend to show an empty, glowing garden. In practice, a few things are worth knowing before you go:
- Crowds: LBB notes long waits at peak hours and on weekends, so the garden is often full.
- Indoor rooms look different: at Anand Lok the indoor room is plainer than the garden, and at Chanakyapuri it is warm and woody rather than fairy-lit.
- Daylight changes the mood: the lights matter far less at noon, which is why LBB suggests evenings.
- Weather: outdoor seating is most pleasant in winter, which is when most open-air cafe features about Diggin were published.
None of this makes the visit less enjoyable, but it helps to set expectations, especially if you are planning a birthday or a date around a particular corner.
Simple tips for low-light phone photos
- Use your phone's night mode and hold still for a second or two.
- Tap on a face or the food to set focus, then lower exposure a little so the lights do not blow out.
- Put the fairy lights behind your subject, not in front, for a soft background glow.
- For food, shoot during the last of the daylight, or ask for a table nearer a lamp.
To plan what to order for those photos, see the Diggin Cafe menu page.
